PBS, it's educational!

Rebekah and I have been sick this week. It's the first time that we have both been sick at the same time. You know, runny nose, cough, fever, and fatigue. Well, I'm the only one fatigued. Rebekah's cold has given her an amazing amount of energy. I don't really know what to do with her given that I feel like I've just been hit by a truck and she wants to jump around in her crib and dance and sing in the living room. So, with Rebekah (or probably any 2 yr old) when in doubt, turn on the PBS cartoons, give the girl a few snacks, and I've got a golden hour of rest. I figure that since I'm not up to par and she wouldn't learn much from me today anyway she might as well watch PBS. It makes me feel better to say that it's educational TV that she's watching. After all, she did sing a few rounds of the Itsy Bitsy Spider with the folks from Sesame Street this morning.

Rebekah has discovered the Bumbo (a seat that encourages babies to sit up before they're really strong enough to sit on their own). She hasn't sat in it since she was 9 months old, but now she carries it around the house and uses it as her own personal seat.

Today she needed a few seating options. Please note the training potty (which she only uses as a chair, not to actually go to the bathroom in - read slight frustration), the sit-n-spin, and the Bumbo.

My view from the couch:

Reading time at the stairs. See what I mean about the Bumbo?

She found her daddy's boots today and kept yelling "Mommy, mommy, I wear daddy's boots!" and then she would laugh really hard. The laughter ended when she tried to walk in them and face planted.
There was a lot of Tylenol intake between the two of us today. Hers seemed to be much tastier than mine! She is always sure to stick her tongue into the cup to try and get every last drop of the cherry flavored sugary goodness out.

Maybe next week will produce some pictures that aren't blurred and don't involve us laying around watching PBS cartoons but I wanted to post something that wasn't vacation related.
