The Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday morning we packed up and headed to meet our friends, the Birkholzs, at Gallerein Farms in Shelbyville, KY. It's the farm that we've gone to for the last few years to pick our pumpkins and has become a tradition for our families to meet there every year. The farm is smaller than the other more popular farms around, so it still has plenty of free activities for the kids. It's growing every year though so there are activities like pony rides and moon bounces for those parents so inclined to spend the cash. We deprive our daughter and let her play in the free activities like jumping in the hay pool, climbing the mountain of hay bales, riding on  the tractor pull to the pumpkin patch, and feeding the animals at the petting zoo (this is only free if you find stray ears of corn to feed the animals. Otherwise you pay a quarter to get corn from a machine). The great part is that Rebekah is too young to know any better and she's not missing anything.

It was a bit cooler, more windy, and more overcast in Shelbyville than in Louisville, but it was still a lot of fun! Here are some of our pictures from the day. Hope you enjoy!

The look of annoyance because I'm making her stop climbing to take a picture.

I sent Sam on the hunt for a white pumpkin

At first she was a little timid about feeding the animals.

She warmed up to feeding the little goats until one tried to bite her bracelet.

Baby Luke. All of the Birkholz boys really should be Baby Gap models.

Baby Crosby update: Baby boy is doing great! He's moving often and is growing well. I think he may be deaf though because Rebekah still thinks she needs to yell into my bellybutton to talk to him. She's also still gets offended that he doesn't respond to her questions.
